I gave him my vote. I helped make some Skype-based phone calls at http://www.sv4obama.com/ in the weeks prior to His Victory. I also help at my favorite donut shop next door. I watched the Barack Obama election victory speech, 2008 and hope for a repeat in 2012. Barack-Obama is now the President. This next four or eight years is an appropriate time to be smart and make some forward-looking changes in how our Nation is run.
With Obama's presidency, I am confident that we are going to quickly achieve more transparency and openness in our government at all levels and in our society and especially our academic institutions. I hope that local municipal governments come to deploy municipal wikis so that they can receive useful feedback. I hope that they also pursue deploying free or affordable municipal Wi-Fi.
