Data Jester

The Data Jester (DJ) will coordinate with the Civics Generalist and the Data Wraith to monitor the occasional malaise that might set in as the sometimes painful process of innervating our society with the computer network proceeds. The Data Jester is here to do exactly what Copernicus, Darwin, Freud and Watson-and-Crick have done: insult the egos of men with clever observations about the mysteries of existence. The DJ cannot be regulated by any State-issued license and would, of course, immediate poke fun at any such notion with maniacal histrionics. If the DJ is not least 5% of the time on the verge of having his legs broken by those he is currently making fun of, then then he is probably in need of a vacation or a career change. The DJ knows that education must be leavened with entertainment and he has no ambition to control the world because he is simply doing his job for the sake of education and educating minds, especially young minds, does not give one control of future events at all, right? The better DJ's are, by most appearances, authentically irresponsible as they dance near the edge of the abyss merely for the edification and entertainment of others. They function as catalysts for the societal innervation of our society.
